Hong Kong – Vegetarians 27Mar09
Boy was I in heaven. There are plenty of vegetarian restaurants around Hong Kong. Might not have very much luck with street stalls but restaurants are open pretty late and you’re bound to find something. And there’s a street market in just about every area. Most markets have a section that sell fresh fruits.
I went to a couple really amazing vegetarian restaurants:
M Garden Vegetarian in Mong Kok
They had everything from shark fin soup to dumplings to all types of faux meats. My favorite was the shark fin soup. These were very tasty as well:
Gaia Veggie Shop in Prince Edward
This was the most interesting veggie place, they had sushi! Well not real sushi but it looked just like it. Not quite sure about the taste – the tuna and the salmon was close but the abalone was just different.
They also had a really delicious roast duck that you make into little wraps yourself.
And some pretty interesting things they made up like these golden pouches.
